Here are some pix of my Final A-LEVEL DT Textiles pieces. The given brief was
‘Nature in Design’ so I got my inspiration from the local rainforest and butterfly
centre-Felinwynt. The top is 100% Silk Dupion that I have silk painted and free
machine embroidered myself....It’s based on a Madagascan Comet moth. And the
skirt is a bias-cut Chiffon/crepe type fabric and a nylon overlay with silk and cotton
leaves hand-sewn on top(VERY time consuming and finger-blistering process! >_<*)
It kinda shows monstera leaves, palms and ferns etc...and there are 3 water-soluble
fabric butterflies sewn on too for detail. It has been hinted that I have an ‘A’ for this
piece but I won’t know for sure until results are out, and the examiner too one of the
photos away with him and there’s a chance it could be called forward for exhibition
with the best in the country (WOOHOOO!!! ...Totally unexpected but a very
nice surprise considering the hundreds of hours spent on these pieces...)
*The garments are being modelled by a girl in my art class and the photographs were
taken on a really sunny day at the back of our school where the Science department
pond is.*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
